WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR ANOTHER WEB
SITE?
Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses
are often in need of affordable technology assistance.
With limited budgets, many of the existing solutions
are too costly. The idea of reaching out to tech savvy
college students on a part-time basis not only makes
financial sense but also develops these soon-to-be-graduates
for the workforce. This concept can even enhances local
economic development initiatives by addressing brain
drain while encouraging students to pursue entrepreneurship.
This approach is a bit different which
allows us to accommodate all businesses including businesses
less than five people. Many college career service centers
are evaluated on placing students in internships (usually
2 or so months), co-ops or fulltime positions not the
part-time work many of these smaller businesses and
entrepreneurs have in mind.
At the same time, many communities
are struggling to place the growing number of students’
interested in participating in an internship or co-op.
This of course creates an opportunity for all involved
including small businesses, universities and economic
development organizations.
With the growing rate of small businesses
and the increasing demands on students to obtain experience
before graduation, the paradigm must shift to accommodate
current businesses and future workforces.
